The donuts at Valkyrie Doughnuts are yeast-raised, egg-free and dairy-free. While I prefer a cake donut, these were quite delicious, and I never would have guessed that most of their flavors were vegan. Which led me to do some research - what other great vegan places have I been missing out on in St. Pete? Dunedin, FL located 10 minutes north of Clearwater and about 30 minutes west of Tampa is a hidden gem that more and more people are discovering. Because of their recently growing downtown and addition of the revamped Fenway Hotel, visitors and locals are flocking to this very cool Florida town. One thing Dunedin is most famous for is its abundance of breweries. Dunedin is home to 9 popular craft breweries so there is something for every type of beer drinker. The best part about Dunedin and their brewery scene is they are all a short walk or bike ride away from one another, making it the perfect day time activity!

When Tyler and I were visiting for the holiday in July 2019, I made sure we stopped for Voodoo Doughnut before we headed out to the Garden of the Gods. Are they the perfect hiking food? No. But we made it work. If you’ve never been to Voodoo Doughnut, this is definitely a stop to make on your next trip.
